Kinetic Neuroscience Privacy Policy

This policy covers the software products of Kinetic Neuroscience, LLC: the Kinetic Neuroscience app (iOS, Android, macOS) and the Kinetic Neuroscience Dashboard for clinicians (macOS), together "the Software".

The short version

The Software collects nothing. It has no accounts, no cloud, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and it makes no network connections. Your training data is stored on your own device and leaves it only when you yourself choose to send it. We - Kinetic Neuroscience, LLC - do not receive, store, or process your data unless you deliberately send it to us or to your clinician.

Information the Software handles on your device

• Your name (optional). The app asks once who is training, so that a file you later choose to send is attributable to you. You may decline; training works without it.
• Training data. EEG-derived measurements from your headset (band power readings, feedback scores, session results, baselines) recorded during sessions.
• Headset details. The name, model, serial number, and firmware version of the EEG headset used, and the model of the device the app runs on, recorded so your clinician can interpret your files.
• Settings. Session preferences, audio levels, and similar choices.

All of the above is stored locally on your device only.

What leaves your device

Nothing leaves your device automatically. There are exactly two ways data moves, and both are actions you take yourself:

• "Send data" packages your sessions into a file and hands it to your device's standard share sheet. You choose the destination - typically an email to your clinician. Your name is included only in that file's manifest so the recipient knows whose recording it is.
• Diagnostics export (headset support) produces a technical file that contains no session data and no name.

Once you send a file, it is in your custody and your recipient's, like any attachment you send.

The clinician Dashboard

The Dashboard imports the files patients choose to send and keeps them on the clinic's own computer. It makes no network connections. Clinician notes, reports, and backups are stored locally on that computer. An optional passcode can gate the Dashboard on shared machines.

What we receive

By default, nothing. If you contact support or choose to send us a file, we use what you sent solely to provide support and the service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties.

Bluetooth

The app uses Bluetooth only to communicate with your EEG headset. It does not use Bluetooth or anything else to determine your location.

Retention and deletion

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. "Erase all data" in the app's settings deletes all sessions, baselines, and your name, and resets the app's identity. Uninstalling the app removes its data from the device. Files you have already sent are controlled by you and your recipients.

Children

The Software is intended for individuals aged 16 and older, consistent with its End User License Agreement. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

Because your data never leaves your device by itself, its protection rests on your device's own safeguards. We recommend using your device's passcode and disk encryption. The Dashboard additionally offers an optional passcode and local backups.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the Software's release notes.
